Desert Sky Events — Perseid Meteor Shower 2026 in El Gouna

Happening now — 7 to 14 August 2026

The night the sky rains stars

The Perseid meteor shower peaks over the Red Sea desert on the night of 12–13 August 2026 — and this year the moon is new, so the sky stays truly black. No city lights, no moonlight. Just you, the dunes and the Milky Way.

Why the desert beats the beach

From a hotel balcony you might catch five or six meteors an hour. Thirty minutes inland, past the last streetlight, the sky opens up completely — the Milky Way becomes a visible band and the fainter meteors appear. Our Bedouin camp sits deep in open desert with a 360° horizon, tea on the fire and nothing between you and the sky.

Event-only trips — built for this shower

Three packages we run only during the Perseid week, 7 to 14 August. Timings are set around the meteor peak, not around sunset. Every package includes hotel pickup from El Gouna, Hurghada, Makadi and Soma Bay, a licensed guide, Bedouin tea and dinner, mattresses and blankets at the watching point.

How to watch it properly. Meteor rates climb after 11pm and peak in the two hours before dawn. Lie back, look up — no telescope, no binoculars. Your eyes need 20 minutes in the dark to adjust, so keep phone screens off.

Bring: a jacket or hoodie (the desert drops to 20°C at night), closed shoes and a scarf for the ride. We provide the transport, guide, tea, dinner, mattresses and blankets.

Prices are on request. Rates depend on group size, pickup hotel and trip length — message us on WhatsApp and we send you the price straight away.

Book early. Peak nights sell out — groups stay small so everyone gets space and quiet.
